Goldfish are brilliant because they are so easy to keep. They are just so robust. They can grow up to 23 inches. The oldest recorded goldfish was 49 years old. Can you believe that. They have been known to eat from your hand and often school together. Ours all go together into the shallows and in the winter months they can be all found together in a couple of rows all regimented and huddled together. When they gather together it is called a troubling. What a lovely word.
In 2007 we put in 5 or 6 babies, all little brown things. They have already grown so much in just 9 months and are all the lovely orange gold colour we love. They are our smallest goldfish. We have quite a few larger ones ranging from 4 or 5 inches up to 8 or 9.
